What is the Resume Writing process and how long does it take?
- Purchase a package then send us your most recent resume.
- Once reviewed, you'll be matched with a Writer based on your background and their industry expertise. Our Certified Professional Resume Writers are highly skilled and work successfully with numerous clients each year across several industries.
- Your Certified Professional Resume Writer will initially be in touch via email within 1 business day upon receiving your resume to schedule a 30+/- minute initial intake call. We'll call you at the day/time you select to discuss your career, future goals, and how best to position you in the marketplace.
- Your Resume draft will be delivered within 5 to 7 business days via e-mail (2 to 3 business days for expedited package purchases). If your package includes a Cover Letter and/or LinkedIn Profile, those documents will be created subsequent to your Resume draft.
- We work hard to deliver our drafts as close to perfect as possible. Once delivered, you have up to two (2) edits within a 15-business day timeframe to follow-up with us, if needed (via email and/or telephone) to ensure you’re 100% happy.
- Average project start-to-finish time frame is about 1½ weeks.
Can you critique my resume?
Yes, we'll be happy to critique your resume, and you can too with our help! Most of the resumes we see have similar mistakes and below are some of the most common issues we see time and again. With your resume in mind, please read through the following bullets:
- Beginning Summary: is completely missing; too standard; and/or not telling the reader what you really have to offer as a qualified candidate. Also often missing or being underutilized is a list of Core Competencies, a vital piece of a resume nowadays, that provides a comprehensive overview of your strengths via key terms.
- Content: the wording is often underwhelming and doesn't excite the reader to keep reading; achievements are buried by walls of bulleted statements; and/or it is tasked-based versus achievement-based.
- Mechanics & Design: the layout and overall design is lacking throughout; words are misspelled and random words get Capitalized mid-sentence. The document is not Applicant Tracking System (ATS) compatible. Every word, every line and every section should work hard on your behalf to help your resume land on top of the resume pile while also keeping the reader engaged and giving a mechanically sound presentation.
- Overall Impression: clients undersell themselves and their abilities time and again without even knowing this is happening by working with a lackluster resume. A resume needs to be a highly-engaging and effective marketing tool which concisely conveys a potential employee's experience, skills and expertise to a potential employer.

In the ever-changing job market we simply cannot predict availability or promise positions for every client we support, but we can promise to work with you, within the stated timeframes, to ensure you're happy with the documents we create.
And as we deliver digital documents to you that cannot be returned, all sales are final once received and/or you have had your initial client intake call with your assigned Professional Resume Writer, as our resume writing methods and in-depth industry knowledge is shared during this call.
